Trump's Organization Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of foreign workers on temporary visas this year, while his administration was creating barriers for other businesses wanting to do the identical, an analysis released Thursday stated.

Based on data from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization aimed to bring in at least nearly 200 foreign workers in the coming year for short-term roles at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas for staff including waitstaff, office assistants, housekeepers, culinary employees and farm workers was the highest ever submitted by the organization, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that Trump had sought to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The disclosure comes amid a tightening on immigration laws by his administration that has included the introduction of a $100,000 fee on skilled worker visas; increased review of the actions of the millions of people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for international scholars and reporters.

In total, the business aimed to hire 566 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Notably, Trump was criticized by some in the GOP this period for remarks justifying the need for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy particular roles.

“You cannot just say a country is coming in, going to spend $10bn to construct a facility, and going to take people off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in five years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that well,” he stated to a host after it was implied that foreign workers lower the wages of US workers.

The White House refused a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
