New England Equal Longest Victory Run Since Tom Brady Years with Triumph Against Jets

New England matched their best victory streak since the Brady period as they overcame division rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

Rookie Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the New England squad claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The win extends the Patriots lead at the top of the division as they moved to a 9-2 record, with the New York bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had taken the lead at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a short rushing score to conclude the New York's initial series

But the Patriots answered in the second quarter as Henderson ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back caught a pass from Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third period to push the score to 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of the rookie. "He wants to be great."

Justin Fields connected with Metchie late in the third period to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the Patriots wrapped up the triumph
