The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
